Xunbin Wei

Prof. Xunbin Wei received his Ph.D. degree in Physiology & Biophysics from University of California, Irvine in 1999. He did his post-doctoral training with Prof. David Clapham at Childrens Hospital in Harvard Medical School. From 2001-2005, Dr. Wei was a faculty member in Wellman Center for Photomedicine, Massachusetts General Hospital.  From 2006-2010,he is a professor and deputy director of Institutes of Biomedical Sciences, Fudan University. Currently, he is a distinguished professor at Med-X Research Institute, Shanghai Jiao Tong University.  He has published more than 70 papers in the area of optical techniques for studying cancer and immune system, including on Nature and PNAS. In addition, Dr. Wei has obtained 10 patents and one Chinese FDA approval for medical device.

Research
 early optical detection of cancer and cancer metastasisin vivo optical monitoring of stem cellslight treatment of Alzheimer’s diseaseoptical manipulation of cells.
