【摘要】Magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) provides in vivo metabolic and biochemical information about tissues non-invasively, which has been applied clinically for over two decades. In this talk, I will introduce our work on neurogenesis and neurotransmitter study using proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H-MRS) with applications in psychiatric disorder. The following aspects will be addressed: (1) Hippocampal neurogenesis in depression patients and the impact of antidepressants/electroconvulsive treatment in patients hippocampal plasticity. (2) The glutamatergic signal dysfunction within cortico-striato-thalamo-cortical (CSTC) circuit of obsessive -compulsive disorder (OCD) patients. (3) Combining MRS with functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) technology, we carried out study of brain metabolism along with brain functional connectivity in OCD. The pathophysiology of OCD includes multiple biological systems that influence each other and the functional alterations are accompanied by neurochemical changes. The multi-modal functional magnetic resonance imaging technology enabled a more comprehensive understanding about the mechanism of psychiatric diseases.
