Yifei Yao
Dr. Yifei Yao is currently a tenure track
assistant professor on biomechanics. He got the B.E. in Biomedical Engineering
and B.S. in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics from Shanghai Jiao Tong
University in 2012. In 2016, he got the PhD degree from Biomedical Engineering in
the Chinese University of Hong Kong under the supervision of Prof Arthur F.T.
Mak. Since 2016, he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in Cleveland
Clinic, USA. Since 2019, he joined the School of Biomedical Engineering in
Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Engineering Research Center of Digital
Medicine and Clinical Translation. He also worked as a visiting scholar in the
Department of Mechanical Engineering, Sheffield University, UK. His research
focuses on the cellular biomechanics, orthopedic clinical biomechanics,
multiphysics finite element modeling, dynamic ultrasound imaging processing,
biomaterials and rehabilitation engineering. His research motivation is to
provide support to the prevention, diagnosis and intervention in diseases
through multiscale biomechanics. He published over 20 SCI
papers, including Journal of Biomechanics, NPG Asia Materials, Nanoscale, Clinical Biomechanics, Biomechanics and Modeling in
Mechanobiology, Annals of Biomedical Engineering, Journal of Orthopaedic
Translation. Dr Yao is a member of Orthopaedic Research Society and life member of World Association for Chinese Biomedical Engineers (WACBE). He serves as editorial member of Medicine in Novel Technology and Devices, and reviewer for IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering; Journal of the Mechanical Behavior of Biomedical Materials; Journal of Medical and Biological Engineering,Medical
Engineering & Physics,Journal of Wrist Surgery,Mathematical
Biosciences and Engineering. He was awarded Global Scholarship Programme for
Research Excellence in 2014, and Pujiang Talent Plan in 2019 in Shanghai and Young Scholar Award of 9th WACBE in 2019.
