Dr. Yuhong Xu is an Adjunct Professor of SJTU School of BME. She is a Professor and Associate Dean of SJTU School of Pharmacy. She obtained her Ph.D. degree in Biophysical Sciences from State University of New York Buffalo in 1996. She had been a postgraduate researcher at UCSF School of Pharmacy, a Postdoctoral Researcher at Chiron Corporation, and a Senior Scientist at Merck Research Laboratories before returning to China. She became a Professor of SJTU in 1999 and was a founding member of SJTU School of Pharmacy. Currently she heads the Laboratory of Molecular Pharmaceutics in the School of Pharmacy and is also a Co-Director of the Molecular Imaging Research Center in Med-X Research Institute. Professor Xu has authored and co-authored more than 60 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and more than 20 issued patents. Ten Ph.D. students and 30 M.S. students have graduated from her lab. Her research interests include: Molecular imaging technologies and contrast agent development; targeted delivery of drug and gene therapeutics; and vaccine formulations and adjuvants.
